James Keelaghan pictureJAMES KEELAGHAN  is an internationally known Canadian folk singer-songwriter. Born in Calgary, Alberta, he is now based in Winnipeg. Many of the lyrics in his songs display a concern about social problems and justice in society.  His passionate mix of roots rock, Americana, and contemporary folk has established Keelaghan’s presence in Europe, Australia, and North America. He is making a rare appearance in this country with Hugh McMillan accompanying him. He is described by Time Out as “One hell of a good songwriter and as a guitarist his playing is practically faultless”.  He has marked 25 years of recording with a cd called History but also released ‘House of Cards’ a cd of ten new songs. “He displays a genius for finding his way deep inside big stories, building them outward from palpably intimate moments.” The Boston Globe
